LA GRANDE, Ore - The pipeline of players from Crook County High School to Eastern Oregon University continues to fuel Mountaineer athletic programs with the signing of Cowgirl star Jessica Lea.

Lea plans to join her former high school teammates Grace Deboodt and Melanie Ceciliani at EOU.  Ceciliani signed her letter of intent back in January while Deboodt has been wowing Mountie fans for two years at EOU as a multi-sport athlete who competes in volleyball, basketball and track.

Like Deboodt, Lea will show her versatility by playing both volleyball and basketball for Eastern next season.

As a volleyball player Jessica's accomplishments are impressive.  At CCHS Lea was twice named to the all-conference and all-state teams.  As a senior she earned Intermountain Conference MVP honors and was recognized as the 5-A Player of the Year after guiding her team to two straight state titles.

With a basketball in her hand Lea is equally impressive, averaging 17 points, five rebounds and five steals per game as a senior.  As her team captain Jessica pushed the Cowgirls to their first playoff appearance in recent memory.  For her efforts she was a unanimous first team all-league selection.
